PHYSICAL EDUCATION
During my 2022 residency at TRIANGLE on Governors Island in New York, I used the abandoned colonel's home, where I was invited to work, as a theater venue to present my work. Playing with visitors' expectations, I reframed the term "Physical Education" as a course one takes in school into a lifelong subject by installing my sexually charged artworks. In the second-floor bedroom and closet, I installed works from my Daphne's Choice and Love and Sex repertoire. On the first floor, I installed newly created works, such as my Diana and Modern Prometheus installations, in the dining room, and minor works, such as The Skin of Evil and Tree of Knowledge, in the entrance hallway. To enhance the experience of these spaces, I lit most areas with blue lighting, while leaving the white lighting embedded in my installation pieces to illuminate their locations.
